Crime Has An Impact on Everyone – Especially the Victim
 
Victims of crime and their signifcant others (family and friends) go through a difficult adjustment period following a crime. Whether they have been physically hurt of had their house broken into, chances are the crime will have an impact.
 
The trauma that people experiece after being victimized is not a sign of weakness. It is a stress reaction to the loss of safety and security brought about by the crime,

Although these thoughts and feelings are most upsetting, it is important to remember that they are normal reactions to trauma and /or victimization.  These reactions can last for several hours, days, weeks, months or even years depending on the individual and the circumstances that they are faced with
